Pepper Dennis is an attractive and determined journalist aiming to become the anchor for Chicago’s leading evening news. Just as she believes she’s on the verge of achieving her dream job, her charming new love interest, Charlie Babcock, arrives at the newsroom and snatches the position away from her. Adding to Pepper’s struggles is her sister Kathy, who has recently gone through a separation and is now living with her, creating extra tension. The only ones who truly understand her frustration are her supportive friends and colleagues, makeup artist Kimmy and cameraman Chick.
