Time Team
S14E09 The Domesday Mill - Dotton, Devon
Time Team embarks on their first excavation of a watermill, a type of structure that has been largely overlooked despite its historical significance. Traveling to the River Otter in Devon, the team explores a site that can be traced back to the Domesday Book of 1086, although the last mill structure was demolished as recently as the 1960s. They collaborate with mill historian Martin Watts, industrial archaeologist Mike Nevell, and finds expert John Allan. Meanwhile, Tony takes a trip to the operational mill in nearby Otterton.
